4.1.1 What special features do KOMETA Typefaces have?

Our typefaces are designed with advanced OpenType features. To view the full list of features available in each typeface, refer to the typeface’s specimen found at Typefaces > Typeface Name > View Specimen.

4.1.2 What languages do KOMETA Typefaces support?

All of our typefaces support Latin Extended-A—that is, Western European, Central European, and Southeastern European languages. See individual typefaces for details—a full character set is listed at the end of every typeface specimen (PDF).

4.1.3 Can I modify the Licensed Font Files?

Modifying the Licensed Fonts directly is not permitted, as outlined in our EULA. However, you may convert the Licensed Fonts into outlines and then adjust those outlines as needed—this approach ensures that the original OTF/WOFF/WOFF2 font files remain unaltered. For instance, you can use the fonts in a logotype, customize the vector paths, and embed the modified outlines in your final deliverables (such as a PDF file).

4.1.4 Do you take bespoke commissions?

KOMETA is open to commissions for bespoke typefaces tailored to specific needs—whether for business or not-for-profit. Have an interesting project to discuss? Drop us an email.

4.1.5 Do you sell Variable fonts?

A complimentary Variable Font is included with all Complete Family purchases. Custom cuts can be generated on request—get in touch if you want to know more.

4.1.6 How do I enable special features in Microsoft Office?

To access OpenType features in Word, select the text and choose Format > Font > Advanced, then select a Stylistic set from the dropdown or enable Contextual Alternates.

In PowerPoint, select the text and choose Insert > Symbol—from there, you can view all special glyphs available.

For a complete list of features available in each KOMETA Typeface, refer to the typeface’s specimen.

4.1.7 How do I enable special features in Apple software?

To use advanced OpenType features in Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and other Mac-native apps, select your text and open the Font Panel (Format > Font > Show Fonts or Command-T). Choose one of our fonts, then click Typography in the dropdown menu to access features like stylistic sets, contextual alternates, and ligatures.

For a complete list of features available in each KOMETA Typeface, refer to the typeface’s specimen.

4.1.8 Can I use advanced OpenType features in software like Canva?

Our fonts are designed with the latest OpenType standards to provide advanced typographic features. However, as of December 2024, Canva does not support OpenType features.

This limitation in Canva prevents users from accessing many of the enhanced capabilities embedded in our typefaces, which rely on OpenType—an industry-standard technology. For full functionality, we recommend using professional design software that fully supports OpenType features.

4.1.9 How do I use the Web License font files?

The Web License comes with WOFF2 font files that you can self-host on your server. Serving the fonts yourself via CSS @font-face offers the added benefit of greater flexibility, control over implementation, and privacy compliance.

Example usage:

@font-face {
  font-family: "Family-Name-Here";
  src: url("path-to-font.woff2") format("woff2");
}
